About Kate

Hello, I’m Kate!

When I was growing up I wanted to be a meteorologist, however my creative side won over (after failing miserably at A-level Maths!) and I went on to study Design: Craft at Staffordshire University, graduating in 2005. My love of the weather still remains prominent throughout my designs and I am resigned to being an armchair forecaster and pluviophile!

My jewellery is now shown in a number of exhibitions and my work is stocked nationally across the UK. I have also had the privilege of working with other makers, check out my collaboration with This Is Pewter by Ella McIntosh

In 2017 I realised my lifelong dream of moving to the seaside with my family, after growing up in the Midlands  and spending a great deal of time in large cities. The North Yorkshire coast is a magical place to live and has already filled my head with endless new ideas, I spend every moment I can walking on the beach looking for new treasures hiding on the shore, something I grew up doing on family holidays with my Mum and am now teaching my very enthusiastic toddler!

As well as my current collections, I have done a number of commissions exploring various themes and colours, and I love the challenge of creating something completely unique.

Aside from jewellery making, I am a very enthusiastic cloud spotter and photographer. You can see some of my pictures on Instagram along with some behind the scenes in my workshop.
